How do you build

The question arises for the believer on what to do with scriptures when it comes to hearing, listening and obedience. One major component is understanding what you hear and from what source does the 'voice' come from. In Paul's writings, he admonishes the believers to 'take heed on how you build' as the foundation has already been laid (Torah-Old testament) and Messiah Y'Shua (Jesus) being the cornerstone. Having said that, our objective should be to build upon that which was already established up and including Messiah's teachings. Some people would say that it (Torah) is done away with and that the Spirit will lead ME and teach me all I need to know. As we know, Scripture was given by the Almighty's finger during Moses (Moshe) time and since scripture also says, 'He changeth not'.....I would think our starting point (foundation and cornerstone) would be the best place to build upon - carefully. So if someone says to you that they really don't need to heed the (Instructions) of the 'Old' Testament, as they only need the Holy Spirit's guidance.., then Why are we admonished to 'Study to show thyself approved unto Elohim'? I think the written words, the Living Word (Y'Shua), the Ruach (Spirit) and the Father are all ONE (Echad).....so says Scriptures. Amein Baruch Ata Adonai Eloheneu Melech Ha Olam!

A day to Remember

Recently we have read about the 'remembrance day' which is a reflection of the Holocaust which happened in Europe (Germany) about 60yrs ago. Also in the news is the volcanic activity from Iceland, affecting Europe as they can not get their planes in the air.......Ashes for ashes? What comes around__goes around as paybacks will come. Kingdom Economy

Matthew 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal."
I Tim 6:19 "storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed."

Isn't it wonderful that our Father's Kingdom will never have an economic problem, or any problem for that matter. Let us be obedient to His Word, that we may continue to receive blessings from above. Nobody will be 'ripped off' in the Kingdom to come...comforting thoughts and words from our Messiah Yeshua.

What are we 'Sowing'

Gardening has been going on since the first Garden back in Eden. And from that time, when things are planted, things of like-kind are reproduced as a result of gardening. Every time I have planted a garden, the harvest was evident of the seeds planted. No surprises at all, however now that we allow Genetic Engineering, as in our food supply...what results are coming forth? If you mess with the original, the end result will not be the same.
We see in Genesis; "And it was very good", therefore we can conclude that originally it was 'good'. But since that time, mankind has messed with all of creation, including the Scriptures, where things have been dropped or added to the original. Is it any wonder we have thousands of denominations and non-denominations....all looking at the Scriptures in their own 'light'? If we go back to the original 'Hebrew', we will understand much more in the 'true light' of His WORD and then sow (make disciples/teaching/living examples) in the lives of others, who then can reproduce that original seed, which will produce; Peace-Joy-Righteousness in the Ruach (Holy Spirit). We were told that we would know a tree........by it's fruits. Therefore be a tree rooted in the offspring of King David__Messiah Yeshua, The WORD made flesh, who was in the Beginning, was with G-d, and was G-d !

Obedience & Truth

There are many examples from our forefathers of obedience to our Creater.
Gen 6:22 Noah did all that Elohim commanded, Gen 22:15 Abraham obeyed..
John 14 "If you love me, keep my commandments" as Messiah spoke these words to his disciples. So the emphasis on keeping His commandments are equated to "Love"
It should be obvious that those who keep His commandments are being obedient, otherwise they would not be keeping them? I remember the old hymnal song, "Trust and Obey" for there's no other way"..... and even today that song rings true as you need both aspects.

We must put our 'trust' in the one who said, "I am the Way, Truth, and the Life", as Messiah is spoken of in John 1; in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with Elohim, the Word was Elohim. The oneness of the Almighty is important in seeing that His Word hasn't changed, As the Almighty changeth not! And in John 17:17, Messiah prayed that we would be "sanctified by the Word, as Elohim's Word is Truth."

Therefore if we first hear, learn, and understand Scriptures from the Spirit which leads and guides into all Truth....we can then trust what we have heard, learned, and understood, and therefore choose to walk in the Truth (Word) and become obedient children to the King of Kings! So shall we speak as Josha spoke in days of old, Joshua 24:15, "As for me and my household, we shall serve Yahweh our Elohim."

Abiding

John 15:1,4, & 7 ...says,

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away,and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.""If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”

These verses speak about the result of abiding in Messiah and His Word, so to understand the meaning of abide is very relative for us to know 'if and how we are abiding'.

"Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love.If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. "

Obvious that keeping commandments is imperitive to abiding in His Love.

John 14 says,

In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me;and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him."

The question to the above scripture is 'In that day" which refers to a connection between knowing and keeping His commandments is equivalent to loving Adonai.

The preceding scripture explains " In that day" - below as it says,

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor,to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive,because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you."

Seems like not just believing is enough,

rather 'obedience which according to Scriptures

is better than sacrifice',

as we are called to 'walk as Messiah walked'.

We can say we Abide in Him

to others and even to ourselves, however the evidence is how we 'walk'

and realize that the Almighty knows the real truth of the matter.

Spiritual Family

Matthew 12:49-50, "Pointing out to His disciples, Messiah said, "Here are my mother and brothers, for whoever does the will of my Father who is in Heaven, is my brother, sister and mother."
Being related by blood alone, will not qualify us to share in the Kingdom to come. Look at Matthew 10:34-36 where Messiah exclaims that those in our own household may be against us. (If they also are not walking as Messiah)

Romans 14:17, defines that the Kingdom is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Ruach (Holy Spirit).
Therefore we must abide in His Word and His Spirit abide in us.

Question: Which came first?

This question is familiar with most people, "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
Most who understand Scripture will agree that the book of Genesis explains that one fairly easy.

Next question, "Which came first the "old testament" or the "new" testament.
Again if you ever picked up and looked at a Bible, then obviously the "Old" came first.

As with the Chicken, who produced the "chicken egg" after it's kind, genetically speaking, does not it seem logical that there would be no "New testament", if the "Old testament" were done away with? As in a previous post, I mentioned that every time a reference is made in the New testament about the "Word" of G-d, it had already been established as they were speaking of what was already commonly known as "Scripture". Messiah came to further explain that "Scripture" as in this passage;
"And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he [Yeshua] expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself" (LUKE 24:27). "All the scriptures" referred to as "concerning himself", are for the most part the prophecies of Scripture we today call the Old Testament, from GENESIS 3:15 to MALACHI 4:5.

Another reference to wisdom from the "Scriptures" ;2 TIMOTHY 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in (Yeshua) Christ Jesus. (Again the "scriptures of old")

This reference of the "old testament";
2 TIMOTHY 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (Do we use this 'old testament')

We can by using what is established, "Old testament"__discern correctly, the "New testament." HOwever if we take it out of context or original language, then the "Teachers" distort and teach others likewise, therefore receiving the greater judgement.

Three qualities essential to teaching; Know the Truth; by studying _ Live the Truth_by example in following Scripture; Share the Truth_ always in demonstrating love.

The Answer to the question above is foundational to our biblical reasoning__wouldn't you say?

Following Messiah

Matthew 10:37-39 - Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Y'shua's words)

These words would seem to indicate that "being worthy" is of great importance, as the Greatest commandment is the Love Adonai with all___not mostly__but all of our heart, etc.

We are called to "take up our cross" and "follow Him", therefore we could say that we can not follow him, if we do not take up our cross? Makes sense, however what is involved in taking up our cross? There are two "wills" at stake here...our will and His will. Agreed? As Messiah prayed in the garden, "Not my will, but thine be done!".........Now remember this was Messiah praying and if it was vital for him, is it not vital for us to turn over our "will" and do His "will" instead? I think if Y'shua (Jesus) prayed as such, so should we as even in the "L-rds Prayer", these verses stand out, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven"

Can we honestly say and is it evident by our everyday actions, that in fact we are living examples of walking as Messiah walked? We are called you know to walk as He walked. So until we understand how He walked, How then can we walk that way? Obviously we cannot without His help.

I knew what it meant to be "born again" and "spirit filled", when I was baptized in the Mosel River in Germany during the summer of "73, however it would be almost 30 yrs (crawling),
till I understood that I must first "pick up my cross"____then I could follow and walk as Messiah walked, as I understand more clearly the "Path" as He has laid it out in Scripture.
I am still and will be a 'work in progess', however it is with great Joy that I am learning and walking at the same time, and with His Lovingkindness and mercy, is patient with me.

New Covenant

What is the new covenant? - The law written on our hearts!

Jeremiah 31:31
Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh,

that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jeremiah 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their G-d, and they shall be my people.
Hebrews 8:8
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Hebrews 8:10
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them Abba, and they shall be to me a people.

Replacement theology teaches, “The church has replaced Israel”, however Scripture teach;

“But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry… But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.”– Romans 11:13, 17, 18,

Gentile believers (wild olives) are covenant–bound (grafted in) to Israel (Father Abraham’s Olive Tree). Therefore Gentile believers are fellow citizens and full-participants with the Commonwealth of Israel (Eph. 2) and are granted the privilege of following the entire Torah.
Jew and Gentile, of those who have placed their trust in (Jesus) Yeshua (Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:7-12).
Torah is foundational revelation of the righteousness of G-d and serves as a description, along with the rest of the Scriptures, of the lifestyle of the Redeemed Community (James 1:16-27).

Noah's days

Assimulation was not the way of living for Noah as was evident in Genesis 6:8 whereas Scripture said, "But Noah found grace in the eyes of Elohim". The hebrew word for grace (chanan), in this passage indicates, "favor or good will", obviously Noah's walk was pleasing to Elohim, as the rest of the people were not, also indicated in Scriptures preceding verse 8. "wickedness, evil, and violence were characteristic of the people in those days.

In the New testament, these verses indicate similar times when Messiah will return.
Matt 24:37-39 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. "For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, they were marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of Man be."

Notice that the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, not man’s sight. Men don’t recognize their own corruption because they reject God’s standards and set their own standards. God’s standards are perfect and unchanging but men are always changing their standards to fit their desires, to fulfill the lust of their flesh.

If our forefather's could see their country today, they would be appalled at what we allow and what we do not allow. This country has assimulated and currently is assimulating into the "World", which includes their ideas, which are contrary to Scripture.

As believers in the Faith, we cannot assimulate into the "World" and it's standards as Elohim will once again visit us, as in the days of Noah, with vengance and fury.

We must walk as Noah walked, as he demonstrated obedience in what He heard. I remember tht old hymn years ago in church, "Trust and Obey for there's no other way..." Also the words, "Hear and Obey" are linked together by (and)...otherwise it is of no benefit for the one who only hears. Actually, the word "Hear" in the Hebrew, means to "obey". That makes more sense when the verse, "He that hath an ear, let him hear" (obey)....food for thought.

Last Day of the week

Scriptures come to mind about saving the best for last, as in the miracle of turning water into wine at the wedding. Also that the first shall be last and the last first. But my topic for today is that the Last day of the week is the best Day indeed! A day for resting from our works and worshipping Adonai for all his goodness and mercies displayed to each of us.

The Sabbath at our home, a set apart day, is a wonderful time for studying scripture, sharing, fellowship, and relaxation.

There are certain words that when used in Christianity seem to elicit from some a positive response, while at the same time from others a negative reaction. I have listened to people over the years, as they editorialize the Bible in order to apply The Word of G-d to their own culture and traditions.
Where do traditions come from, our fathers, their fathers, etc.

Do these traditions line up with the Scriptures? Not necessarily so at all.

Forgotten somehow is the fact that it was Elohim who introduced and installed for all time the goodness of the Sabbath (Genesis chapter 2). The Sabbath falls on the seventh day of the week (Gen. 2:2), not on the first day of the week as some would have us believe. Sabbath means “Rest” as Genesis 2:2 exclaims, “Adonai blessed the Seventh day, then we are told that He sanctified it, and lastly that in it, He rested.”
Who is Lord of the Sabbath (Shabbat)? In Matthew 12:8, "for the Son of man (Y'shua-Jesus) is Lord even of the Sabbath day"
Revelation 1:11, that the Apostle John "was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day". Now what day do you suppose that is? Well, you have seven choices since a week has seven days. If you conclude that it is the Sabbath (Shabbat), the seventh day of the week that long ago Adonai blessed and sanctified (remember Genesis 2), then you correct.
May the Lord grant you wisdom to know the difference between G-d's Law and man's laws and traditions, and then walk accordingly.
Summation: may you remember the 4th commandment in Exodus 20. "Remember the Sabbath day (the Seventh day), to keep it holy".
Oh, also don’t exclude any of the rest, remember…these are HIS WORDS.

Authorship

Have you noticed this phrase is very common among society today, as the Author wants to protect their "works" as it were, from someone else changing the meaning or adapting it to their ideas. The problem is when people do take something out of context from what the Author intended, it no longer represents the original meaning as intended by the Author.

The Scriptures are not just man's words, rather inspired words from our Creater and we were given specific information not to "add" or "subtract", so this was the first mention in human history of establishing "Authorship" over the "Scriptures"

Deuteronomy 4 Hear now, O Israel, the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, is giving you. 2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.

Matt 15:6 Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: 8 ”‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’”

1 Cor 4:6 (NIV) Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written."

Conclusion: We must worship Adonai in Spirit and Truth, and not by rules taught by men, as pride always wants to do things, "My way", rather than "The Way"

Walking - How or Where

I John 2:6

“This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Yeshua(Jesus) walked.”

Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge

Scriptural knowledge is essential if we are to walk as Messiah walked, as His walk was the perfect example of how believers are to walk out their life of Faith. The problem is where people look for that knowledge. What source does your knowledge come from? A good example of what I mean; try googling "walk as Jesus walked" and you will get everybody's opinion, long before you actually see a scripture reference. That tells me that people are looking other places than straight from the Scriptures themselve, as the most popular searches are on the first few pages of each site. Hmm? Also the tendency is to show where He walked, rather than HOW. If we admit that Messiah walked out the very Scriptures that were in existance at the time. (Torah, Tanak) Messiah said in the gospels that His words were not His own, but those of Yahweh. So he didn't create something new, rather explained something "old", from the very beginning. Being that the Scriptures are our (believers) standard as such, we should learn (hear) and walk (obey) so that we are truly walking as Messiah demonstrated. Harden not your hearts as scripture says, rather Humble yourselves and Pray that the Ruach (Holy Spirit) reveals the truth of the Scriptures to you and then by hearing,.. obey his Word.

Faith and Patience

Romans 10:17

Faith comes by hearing the Word of Elohim.

(At the time of this writing - No new testament yet)

There are many examples in the Scriptures of walking by Faith, not only hearing but doing! The fruit of Faith is walking in obedience.

Hebrews 11:8

By faith, Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he was about to receive as an inheritance.

Endurance is one of the fruits of Faith as Revelations reveals this for those who are living during the end times.

Rev 14:12

Here is the patience of the Saints, here are they that keep the commandments of YHWH and Testimony of Y'Shua (Jesus)

But the one who endures to the end will be saved. - Matt 10:22

but Messiah is faithful over Yahweh's house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. - Heb 3:6

Walking as Messiah walked, will increase our Faith, endurance, and patience for those trials which will come upon all those who dwell on this earth.

Forsaken His Word

Jeremiah 6:15 Were they ashamed when they had done abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, nor did they know how to blush.
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall. They shall stumble at the
time I visit them,” said Yahweh.
16Thus said Yahweh, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and find rest for yourselves. But they said, ‘We do not walk in it.’ 17“And I raised up watchmen over you,
and said, ‘Listen to the sound of the ram’s horn!’ But they said, ‘We do not listen.’ 18“Therefore hear, you nations, and know, O congregation, what is upon them! 19“Hear, O earth! See, I am bringing evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to My words, nor My Torah – and they rejected it.
At this time in history, our country which is run by the government, an Obama Nation in which is not asking for, nor wanting to even hear about the Old Paths, and is turning against Israel. Yes, I am sounding the shofar as a warning of those things about to come upon our nation as a result of our disobedience to the Creater of the Universe. Pray for Repentance and a return to the Ancient Paths, wherein blessings abound and a right relationship with our Heavenly Father, through Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).

Contentment

Psalms 23:1 "The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want"

Phillipians 4:11-13 " I have learned in whatever state I am to be content"

I Timothy 6:6-9 "Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. Having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich, fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition."
Summarizing; I shall not want no matter what state I am in as there is great gain in contentment, as I trust my Father in Heaven to have my best interests at heart.

Although the lusts of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life need to be dealt with on a daily basis, by allowing scriptures and the Ruach (Holy Spirit) to be a more significant part of our lives, we can walk out our faith in a manner worthy of His calling.

Relationship with our Heavenly Father

In human relationships, there are many elements involved in establishing, maintaining, and growing with one another. Honesty, respect, love, common interests and views, and communication which are vital. The strongest form of a relationship is one which is by covenant, a good example is marriage.
The indwelling Spirit makes us new creations in Messiah Y'shua (Jesus) as we enter into covenant relationship and fellowship with Yahweh thru Messiah.
Y'shua directs us into right relationship with G-d and man. "And he said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your G-d with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets'" (Matt. 22:37).
So our first requirement in relationship with G-d, is that we Love HIM completely. Secondly we must Obey HIM - Y'shua replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. (John 14:23, 24) and also "This is love for G-d, to obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome." (1 John 5:3)
After reading these scriptures, it is evident that "Love and Obey" are equals, as loving is obeying, and obeying is loving. Communication is also an important element as in Prayer, aspects being; thanksgiving, supplication, confession, and guidance. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us. – 1 John 5:14 We we will be heard when we ask according to HIS WILL. So knowing HIS WILL is essential. Another aspect of our relationship is willingness to be a Disciple, one who is taught - "Study to show thyself approved unto G-d" II Tim 2:5 We should desire our heavenly Father's approval in that we study HIS WORD. (At the time of this writing, there was no new testament yet), therefore HIS WORD (Tanak-Old Testament) is what we are to study first, so that the New testament will fall in line with that already established.
And finally, in pleasing our ABBA, we are to walk as Messiah Y'shua walked; "This is how we know we are in Him; whoever claims to live in Him, must walk as Messiah walked." I Jn 2:3-6
It is imperative that if we are to be in relationship with G-d, we need to follow the His terms written in HIS WORD.
Amen...

Do we Delight..?

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong,
And shall not stand in the path of sinners, And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers, 2 But his delight is in the Torah of Yahweh, And he meditates in His Torah day and night.
Psalm 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart.
Psalm 119:16 "I delight myself in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word.

We may delight in many things, which means "great gratification or pleasure." The prefix "de" means completely. So what pleases us completely is usually the question we ask ourselves, however change that around to what pleases our Heavenly Father? The only was to know that is through Scriptures, His Words to His People. He asked us not only to hear, but also obey. (He desires obedience over sacrifice) Our delighting in the Scriptures is evidence of our desire to be in relationship with our Creator. Don't let traditions of the church, religiousity, and man's interpretations steer you away from reading the Scriptures for youself, unbiased and with an open heart, aiming to please Adonai. If our Faith, comes from hearing the Word of G-d, only question is how do we hear it? This scripture was taken out of the New testament, which at the time it was spoken, was not in existence yet. Therefore the Word of G-d, what folks call the "old" testament was the scriptures the Messiah and Apostles spoke of often. So we need to "study" to show ourselves approved to the Father, as there are many nuggets of truth, which most of the believers have only skimmed over. Messiah is the WORD

In the Gospel of John 1:1 "In the beginnning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God." This statement seems to imply that Y'shua (Jesus) was in the beginning_obviously so, and He was with the Father__ok, and the Word was God__absolutely.
As in the beginning when things were brought into existence just by HIS speaking the WORDS. We can assume then that HIS WORDS mean more than any words every spoken by mere man. Food for thought: Everytime in the New Testament you see, "Scriptures" or "Words of God", they are refering to what was already written in those times. So this observation brings to light a proper understanding of HIS WORD, which knows no time constraints, nor does it change as HE NEVER CHANGES, same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Therefore we need to hear, listen, understand, and apply all those things before the Book of Matthew, if we are to understand and interpret correctly the Apostles writings. In today's pulpits, most 3 point sermons are taken mostly out of the New testament and mainly from Paul. Not understanding that Paul was Torah observant and not teaching something new, but rather something true, based on "Scriptures" that were from the beginning. If we read the first 5 books (Torah), we will have a foundation of what it means to Hear and Obey the WORD of the LORD.

Understanding Sin

Many people's understanding of words, comes from those who use those words as we "trust" them to know the true meaning, however even the best intentions may only be what was taught before or handed down, conjecture, or within our limited understanding. Words in the Scriptures are the backbone of the message throughout and going back to the original language will reveal the earliest meaning of those words. I have various translations, which do come to an objective meaning for Sin, which is Lawlessness.

New International Version Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
New American Standard Bible Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
International Standard Version Everyone who keeps living in sin also practices disobedience. In fact, sin is disobedience.
King James Bible Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
American King James Version Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
American Standard Version Everyone who is a sinner goes against the law, for sin is going against the law.
Douay-Rheims Bible Whosoever committeth sin commmitteth also iniquity; and sin is iniquity.
Darby Bible Translation Every one that practices sin practices also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

In Matthew 7:23 & Luke 13:27 - Yeshua (Jesus) told them, "Depart from me, you workers of Iniquity (Lawlessness), I never knew you"

To understand whom he was speaking to, you have to read the verse before this, which is Matthew 7:22 - "Many will say to me on that day, Lord Lord, did we not prophecy in yourName, cast out demons in your Name, and perform many miracles in your Name?

It seems obvious in the above words that "those called are ones who believe that their "works" showed that they are "believers", however what was questioned was their "works of lawlessness" which the harshest rebuke was given by the Master, even saying that HE did not know them. (Apparently it is not just us knowing HIM, but HIM knowing us? So we can say we know HIM, which is to love HIM, but do we keep his Word? The next topic will be, "What is His Word" I am thankful Y'Shua paid the "penalty" for my sin, however now we are to walk as Y'shua walked...according to Scripture.

Greater Love hath no man

than to lay down his life for his friend. Y'shua (Jesus) spoke the words in the gospels. One obvious meaning, to give our lives for others which Y'shua, our Passover Lamb did for all of us. Loving each other as He loved us is also commanded and imperative for those called by His Name. Laying down our life requires first our attention (an ear to hear) followed by action (providing) our brother's need or cry for help. If we are in relationship with one another, these objectives can become attainable. When we understand Covenant Relations as with our ABBA, that can bring more depth in our relationships with one another. We can approach Him with all of our cares, concerns, needs, and desires and likewise we are also commanded to "bear one another's burdens". Little things like phone calls, emails, letters, and visiting can provide the opportunity for "Love in action" as we minister to one another, which we all need in these "last days" as we pray for Unity of the Spirit, the Peace of Jerusalem and the coming of the King of Kings!

Scriptures

Regardless of the subject matter, we must understand the intent of the Author to have a true perspective. Scriptures are no different as our Heavenly Father has given us His Word, starting in Genesis. Since the original language was Hebrew, we need to understand it from a Hebraic perspective and when we can comprehend the First 5 books of the Bible (Torah), the rest will also be seen as "True" and not necessarily "New". IF we throw out the beginning of Scripture, we will not have a good understanding of the latter.
